The seminar highlights how cutting-edge technologies such as Generative AI and Digital Twin are setting new standards for the renovation and daily maintenance of both newly-built and existing buildings in Hong Kong. Through advanced environmental monitoring and digital asset management, these solutions preserve valuable architectural assets while streamlining day-to-day worksite management tasks. 

Unified centralized management platform, leveraging IoT sensors and real-time analytics, are transforming maintenance practices at large-scale building complexes. Automated hazard alerts, integrated smart CCTV systems, and centralized management platform empower facility teams to act swiftly when risks are identified, safeguarding workers and visitors during routine repairs and major restoration efforts. Digital workflows and smart monitoring also help reduce manual paperwork and enhance compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

As a glimpse into successful heritage preservation through a case study, the seminar referenced the ongoing digital twin transformation of heritage management, where 3D modeling and sensor integration enable predictive maintenance and eco-friendly facility upgrades. These practical case studies demonstrate how technology drives proactive, data-based strategies for upkeeping both historic and modern assets, ensuring sustainable stewardship and operational excellence for generations to come.

Ir Terence LUI is the Founder and CEO of Varadise Limited, a Hong Kong-based pioneer in digital twin and AI solutions for smart construction and urban development. A civil engineer by training, he self-taught programming and AI 14 years ago, foreseeing technology’s potential to revolutionize the built world. As Head of Digital Transformation at Hong Kong’s largest construction contractor, he led implementing cutting-edge digital solutions before founding Varadise to drive systemic innovation across the industry. His professional standing was recognized when he was named one of the youngest Fellows of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) globally.

Today, Varadise empowers government departments, utility providers, and real estate developers through end-to-end digital transformation, offering strategic consultancy and tailored technological solutions.
